Standard SIC Industry Sector Codes

SIC Industry Sector Codes are a long-standing and widely recognised data interchange standard for the identification of industry sectors. The coding system is numeric and hierarchical, sub-sectors being categorised by adding an extra digit onto an existing code. More information about SIC codes can be found here. SIC codes are a widely adopted standard, although there are now a number of modern alternatives, including NAICS. SIC sector encoding is one of the standards that is supported by our software.

Using the tool below you can explore the hierarchy of SIC sector codes, clicking on a node in the hierarchy will open or close that node, showing or hiding that sector's sub-sectors.

This page uses AJAX techniques. It may not work for older browsers, or browsers where asynchronous xml communications have been disabled.

The tree will display nodes of the SIC sectoral hierarchy.
