The Exciton Framework - An Overview
The RCRT Exciton Framework supports distributed and parallel computing using mobile agents that can move
around between available host servers, as necessary. Exciton agents are xml/java-based quasi-autonomous rcrt soliton-agents,
which are coupled together by, and can travel through,
XML Space.
Exciton builds on our XML Space technology, which facilitates xml-oriented parallel computing. The Exciton framework
supports populations of mobile agents that provide dynamic space-oriented services. These agents can relocate
themselves, are loosely coupled, and can collaborate using xml-space messaging.
Exciton solution-spaces provide a powerful technological paradigm. Exciton enables populations of quasi-autonomous software
agents to be released into a network, providing services to one-another, and moving between host servers, as appropriate.
- The current version of Exciton is: Exciton-2.0.0-beta.
