Stibium - An Overview
The Stibium™ Naming & Directory Server is a hierarchical database that enables data to be encoded and
stored, and then recovered, together with any 'meta-data' attributes, from an xml-document managed by a central server.
Stibium is deployed as a web-service module, that runs under the Apache Tomcat web server. Stibium's services can be
used by both Java and .Net clients, and includes both a Java JNDI interface as well as a .Net client library.
The Stibium server maintains a hierarchical structure of named 'bindings' which can be shared and manipulated by
distributed web-enabled clients and other agents active on 'the grid' via SOAP xml web services. Stibium makes the
data it manages available to Java clients via JNDI-compliant naming and directory services, and to .Net clients via
a dedicated client library.
The Stibium distribution includes a web application that runs under the Apache Tomcat web server, a
.Net Client Library, and a JNDI Service Provider that supports and extends standard JNDI naming and
directory services.
- The current release version of Stibium is: Stibium-3.2.0
